Isla Chora is an island on the Pacific coast of the Nicoya Peninsula and is close to Samara Beach. The sand on Isla Chora beach comes from river and marine erosion and this small island is a very popular snorkeling site.

Chora Island is also visible from Playa Samara and has a dual personality: On the bay side, there is a quiet white sand beach where the water is calm. Here you're likely to see hermit crabs and iguanas, and have a chance to snorkel safely
On the Pacific side, the island becomes rocky and the waves are bigger.
